Freddie Reekes Memorial Scholarship Golf Classic

Kenbridge Construction was proud to participate in Southside Virginia Community College’s Freddie Reekes Memorial Scholarship Golf Classic on June 11, 2025. This annual event has raised scholarship funds for SVCC students for many years and was renamed in 2017 to honor Freddie Reekes, who dedicated his career to supporting young people at Brunswick High School and SVCC.

The 2025 tournament raised more than $25,000 for the SVCC Foundation Scholarship Program. Representing Kenbridge Construction were Cameron Reekes, Project Manager; Matt Carter, Superintendent; Todd Williams, IT Manager; and Chance Whitehead, Project Manager. They were joined by Rosser Wells, Collin Wells, Jacob Berryman, and Copeland House, who received Championship honors.

Sparta Fire Station Ribbon Cutting

Kenbridge Construction, in partnership with WW Associates, was proud to celebrate the opening of the new Sparta Fire Station with Caroline County.

Designed to meet modern safety and operational standards, the 10,736-square-foot, one-story pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) serves as a vital addition to the county’s emergency response infrastructure. The station includes a four-bay garage for emergency vehicles, a residential area for fire personnel, and site features such as paved driveways, parking, concrete equipment pads, and sidewalks to enhance accessibility and safety.

The KCC project team included Project Manager Sam Hodges, Superintendent Robert Pierce, Administrative Assistant Cornelia Baugh and Carpenter Mike Hall.

Hanover Fire Station 17 Ribbon Cutting

Kenbridge Construction, in partnership with Moseley Architects, recently completed Hanover County Fire Station 17. On April 24, 2025, Kenbridge, Hanover County officials, Fire/EMS leaders, and Moseley Architects celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the county’s first new firehouse built to expand emergency services since 1987. The design-bid-build, 14,993-square-foot facility features three apparatus bays, a dayroom, kitchen/dining area, fitness center, sleeping rooms, and administrative spaces.

Kenbridge Construction Recognized on 2025 Business Honor Roll

Fort Pickett ASP Groundbreaking

Virginia National Guard and Fort Pickett leaders broke ground on the new Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) Administration Building on February 20, 2025. Kenbridge Construction is excited to have been awarded this project in partnership with the Department of Military Affairs and HBA Architecture. Once completed, the building will provide expanded workspace and modernized facilities for the ASP’s staff. This ASP facility is one of the busiest on the East Coast, managing millions of dollars’ worth of ammunition across more than 20 magazines.

Construction is expected to be completed in early 2026.

We are proud to support Fort Pickett and the Virginia National Guard by delivering a facility that meets the needs of their critical operations.

West Area Elementary School Ground Breaking

Chesterfield County broke ground with Kenbridge Construction and Moseley Architects on the new West Area Elementary School on November 18, 2024. Kenbridge is excited to partner once again with Chesterfield County Public Schools and Moseley Architects on this design-bid-build, two-story, 111,500-square-foot project. Kenbridge Construction was the low bidder out of eight general contractors.

The first floor of the school will house younger grades and special education classrooms, while the second floor will serve older grades. Both floors include conference rooms, teacher workrooms, and offices. The first floor also features a gymnatorium, cafeteria, media center, art room, music room, and STEAM maker space. At the main entrance, a secure vestibule is flanked by administrative offices to ensure safety and accessibility.

Kenbridge Construction has proudly completed many successful projects with Chesterfield County Public Schools, including recent builds such as Crestwood Elementary School, Manchester Middle School, and Beulah Elementary School.

Montpelier Recreation Center and Library Ribbon Cutting

Kenbridge Construction joined Hanover County officials and Moseley Architects to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of the new Montpelier Recreation Center and Library. This design-bid-build project delivers Hanover County’s first purpose-built recreation center.

The 21,412-square-foot facility features a full-size gym, a library, and modern, welcoming spaces for community programs and activities.

The KCC project team included Project Manager Mike Bender, Project Manager Sam Hodges, Superintendent Calvin Harris, and Administrative Assistant Tanya Marshall.

Kenston Forest School Addition

Kenbridge Construction recently completed a new addition for Kenston Forest School in Blackstone, VA, in partnership with architect RRMM. This private design-build project added 12,000 square feet, including 12 new classrooms, an entry vestibule, and a courtyard. Existing classrooms were also renovated to create a new main office and teacher’s lounge.

The 2024–2025 academic year kicked off with students enjoying the new upper school building, designed to provide a welcoming and functional learning environment.

Kenbridge Construction worked closely with the school and architect to deliver a beautiful space that meets the needs of their growing community.
