Workforce Development in Action

Kenbridge Construction was proud to participate in three job fairs last week: SVCC Alberta, SVCC Keysville, and Central High School 2026 Career Expo.

These events provided a valuable opportunity to connect with students and share information about careers in the construction industry. Our team discussed the wide range of roles within a construction career, from field positions and skilled trades to project management and administrative support.

We appreciate the opportunity to engage with students who are exploring their career paths and learning more about the construction field. Kenbridge Construction is committed to supporting workforce development and encouraging the next generation to consider careers in construction.

Thank you to the faculty, staff, and event organizers for hosting these successful events. We look forward to continuing to connect with students and supporting local schools!

Workforce Discussion on Henrico CTE Now

Kenbridge Construction was recently invited to be featured on the Henrico CTE Now podcast to discuss workforce development in the commercial construction industry and the ongoing skilled labor shortage impacting the field.

In the episode, Kenbridge’s Brandon Spencer and Cameron Reekes joined the conversation to share insights on the industry’s biggest hiring challenges and how companies are working to bridge the gap from the ground up. The discussion also highlighted how emerging technology is reshaping today’s job sites and creating new opportunities for students entering Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.

As part of this conversation, the team also reflected on recent work completed by Kenbridge Construction, including the ACE Center Renovations and Expansion projects for Henrico County at Hermitage High School and Highland Springs High School. These projects support the continued growth of CTE programs and provide enhanced spaces for students to explore hands-on career pathways.

Through the successful delivery of projects that support education and participation in conversations like Henrico CTE Now, Kenbridge Construction remains committed to strengthening the pipeline between today’s students and tomorrow’s workforce.

Eastover Gardens Firehouse 6 Beam Signing Ceremony

Kenbridge Construction has partnered with Samaha Architects on the design-build project for the new Eastover Gardens Firehouse 6, serving Henrico County. This project represents a major investment in public safety infrastructure for one of the county’s busiest fire stations.

Henrico County disclosed that Firehouse 6 crews responded to nearly 11,000 emergency calls in 2024, highlighting the critical need for a modern, efficient facility. The building has been thoughtfully designed with a focus on safety, operational efficiency, and firefighter well-being, and is expected to begin full operations this fall.

On January 6, 2026, the project reached a significant milestone as Henrico County officials and firefighters gathered for a ceremonial “topping out.” During the event, participants signed the beam before it was hoisted into place above the walls, marking an important step in the construction process.

Kenbridge Construction is proud to be part of this milestone project and to support Henrico County’s continued commitment to public safety.

HALO Christmas

Each year, Kenbridge Construction proudly participates in VCU Health’s HALO Christmas program, an initiative dedicated to spreading holiday cheer to children in our community.

Kenbridge Construction “adopts” children, bringing our team together with a shared purpose of making their Christmas memorable. Employees collaborate to thoughtfully fulfill each child’s wish list, while also providing new clothes and toys to ensure a warm and happy holiday season.

This project reflects our company’s commitment to compassion, generosity, and community involvement, and it holds a special place in our hearts as a reminder of the impact we can make when we come together to support others during the holiday season.

Kappa Sigma Headquarters Expansion

We’re excited to announce that Kenbridge Construction has teamed up with Kappa Sigma Fraternity and Glavé & Holmes Architecture to build an East Wing addition and a new Lawn Building in Charlottesville, VA!

This private, design-bid-build project was awarded to Kenbridge Construction from a select list of general contractors.

The work includes a two-story, 5,652-square-foot East Wing addition, a mirror image of the existing West Wing, and a single-story, 8,813-square-foot Lawn Building at the rear of the lot. Inspired by Jeffersonian Classicism, the new East Wing will perfectly balance the front façade and seamlessly match the West side in massing, appearance, and materials.

The new Lawn Building will complement the historic character of the site while offering modern functionality, including a grand hall, archives, multipurpose room, guest lounge, and guest rooms.
