Kenbridge Construction Company, a commercial general contracting company headquartered in Kenbridge, Virginia, is celebrating seventy-five successful years in business. Established in 1948 and formerly known as Kenbridge Manufacturing and Supply Company, the company initially operated a sawmill and a building supply store in addition to its residential construction operation.
Through the years, the company transitioned from residential construction to commercial projects, and today, the company is widely recognized as a leader in the commercial construction industry in Virginia. Kenbridge Construction has built a solid reputation by conducting its business activities fairly, honorably, and respectfully, delivering quality construction projects on time and within budget.
Emory Hodges, President, attributes the company’s success to its employees. According to Hodges, “The key to our seventy-five years of success is the strong work ethic, positive attitude, and strong determination of our people, day in and day out, over multiple generations. Our people make the difference.” He also stresses the importance of consistency in business, noting, “You must be willing to do on a daily basis whatever is necessary – whatever it takes – to deliver good customer service and quality products with each client interaction.”
Today, the company operates throughout the state of Virginia and in North Carolina. In addition to constructing public bid projects, the company offers design-build services that guide a project from concept to completion. Current work, valued at over $100 million, includes recreation center, prison, retail, bank, military, courthouse, fire station, public safety, and public library projects as well as public, private, and charter schools.
